Hermosa Beach School District provides education for elementary and middle school students. However, high school students attend classes at Manhattan Beach or Redondo Beach. The Hermosa Beach school District has been recognized for its excellent educational programs. Included in a group of less than 300 schools nationally, the Hermosa View school (grades K-2) and Hermosa Valley school (grades 3-8) were recognized as US Department of Education National Blue Ribbon schools.

In El Segundo, there are no residential neighborhoods in the eastern part of the city. Residential areas lie west of Sepulveda Blvd. Students from El Segundo attend schools in the El Segundo Unified School District where the average class size is 23 students per teacher. In 2005, Standards and Poor's named El Segundo Unified School District one of California's 29 Academic Outperformers. The Torrance Unified School District strives to ensure that every student received a quality education and is properly prepared to succeed in life by maximizing their potential and developing them into life-long learners who will contribute to a global society. To serve the students who live in Torrance, The Torrance Unified School District has 17 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 4 high schools, 1 continuation school, and one alternative high school. It also has 2 adult education campuses. Manhattan Beach students attend schools in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District. Within the school district there are eight schools serving 6,580 students. Several of these schools have received distinguished honors. Grand View Elementary received national recognition for its efforts in raising environment awareness and sustainability. In 2009 Pacific Elementary School was honored as a California Service Learning Leader School. Mira Costa High School's athletic program named among ESPN's 2009 "Fab 50" US High Schools. Manhattan Beach Middle School was has been recognized as a 2009 Distinguished School.
